Question regarding VAT and the UK Postal Service?
I sent out a package from east coast US to England on the 28th of July via USPS First Class International. It's now the 7th of August and it still hasn't arrived yet, but I'm still hopeful that it will soon. What I don't understand is this VAT thing. So, if they decide that the contents of my package are over 30 dollars, they're going to send a letter to my girlfriend to have her pay the tax or ... ? I'm more than confident what I sent is worth no more than 20 dollars, but, you know.
Also, I have two other questions:
When I wrote out my customs declaration, I mistakingly made a "G" in the recipient's postal code look like a "6." I'm not sure if on the actual package the "G" looked that much like a "6" .. I like to think I was a bit more careful on the actual package. But, what happens if they think the "G" is a "6?" Will they send it to this nonexistent address or will they realise it's not an actual address? If the second, then what will happen? I googled her address using the mistake postal code, and google maps still directed me to her actual house.

US Postal Service:Registered Mail has not reached sender,for 38 days now?
I had an important document register posted from Longmont,Colorado to Singapore.It cost US $25 %26amp; 38 days to this day and it has not reached yet.Tracking on the USPS web shows it reached San Francisco's International Mail centre 12 days later!!! A normal mail would have reached the far east in 5 days, Now I am trying for days to find out what happened. Physically the sender has asked the USpost office staff. One officer told her she should have paid a little extra to get a confirmation slip from the receiving party (myself). But that I feel is a different issue. General public is made to believe that a registered post is safe but you have to pay a lot more. Granted that one pays....it still does not get to the address...Singapor post I checekd with say as the tracking number is an USPS one they would certainly have the information. The officers showed the extra work thatthey go to to copy the address and tracknumbers on scanners to give up-to date info on registered mails originating from Singapore. It is very impressive technology and checking system. And the cost of registered post from ther eis a fraction more than the original postage!!! My document is irreplaceable....it has already caused me great hardship.....no money compensation can replace the loss. WHat obligation/contract does the sender/USPS has.WHta obligation do they have in warning potential users of very long transit of more thana month OR worst loss of mail??? I am shocked...and I cannot believe it is lost. Can some one be so careless as to mishandle the posted registered articles?? considering there is a tracking number and lot more care/security is taken to send registered mails. You absolutely cannot catch radiation from a non-radioactive parcel, bag or suitcase. Radiation is nothing like germs, and the amount of radiation in an x-ray is also extremely low. Didn't they give you a tracking number? The USPS website is great at keeping their tracking information updated. I had ordered something from Hong Kong to arrive in the New York and it took about 3 weeks. Not sure if that helps you at all. Good luck!the office full episodes sea ray

My cousin's birthday is coming up soon and she recently moved to Bulgaria. For her birthday, I wanted to send her a pair of gloves that my grandfather me. Last time I saw her she really seemed to like the gloves, so I thought it would be nice to give it to her. Also I wanted to send her age in US dollars as cash.
However, when I looked on the USPS website (http://pe.usps.comtext/Immab_031.htm#ep1鈥?/a> I found on the list of Bulgarian Prohibitions for mailing items it included :
'Coins; banknotes; currency notes; securities payable to bearer; traveler鈥檚 cheques; platinum, gold, and silver, whether manufactured or not; precious stones; jewels; or other valuable articles in uninsured parcels.'
Does this mean I cannot send my cousin her age in US dollars?
AND
'Used clothing, footwear, and bed coverings.'
Does this mean I cannot send her the gloves?
Also if I decided to send the package:
Would it be sent to my cousin or would the Bulgarian postal service confiscate the package?
What would happen to the package if it was confiscated?
I am a minor so I would not go to jail, but would me or my parents be responsible for any fines if we were prosecuted?

How does international mail/post work?
You can send a letter from say, the middle of the Amazon rainforest to the Gobi desert, and be reasonably confident it will get there. How on earth can this be possible? I know air mail plays a big part, but won't the letter pass through many countries? You pay the cost of the stamps to the postal service in the country you send the letter from. Why do other postal services bother forwarding the mail? What do they get out of it? Are there agreements between all the postal services in the world to forward mail and get nothing in return?

What do I do or how do I go about getting money back. I was shipped a package from my family outside the U.S. My family payed 70 dollars for an overnight delivery because it was frozen food that they shipped. Now its been two days and I still havn't received the item. I called the U.S. postal service and gave them the tracking number; they said that the package still had not been sent. Not only that but the worker said that their is no next day delivery for international shipments, that they take at least two days and that they dont re-imburse for perished foods. Also,why was my package sitting so long in Jamaica (from 12:01 PM Friday to 10:01 AM Saturday? It seems like it should have made it on a flight on Friday night! The cargo bay on all these airliners is absolutely weather-tight and no water can get into it. Don't worry about the flooding either, because the belly of the aircraft is at least 4 feet off the ground and any flood level will be much less. Even if it were higher those are tight seals on the cargo doors and still no water could leak into it. So you are save all the way around.

I sold something on eBay and I only got $20 for shipping from the buyer. It's not that heavy but it's in a big box and it's going to Canada, and I live in Mississippi, so it's gonna be International, right? So which is cheaper? USPS will be cheaper and it can get there a little faster since UPS has to go through more customs. Just make sure to insure it though and know that USPS doesn't guarantee that it will be there on time.
Well, $20 probably won't cover it, but USPS will always be cheaper. And I don't care who said it, you CAN ship a package to any city anywhere with International Parcel Post. International Express Mail has area restrictions, but you won't be using Express Mail, I assume.
The only conditions you will need to meet is that the entire package weighs no more than 66 pounds, and the package's total measurements (length of the longest side + girth, length of one wrap around the package at its thickest point) is no more than 108 inches. The only complication you may have is if the box is extremely long and lightweight, such as a fishing rod. Then, you may have oversize and/or non-machinable surcharges.
To save money on postage, choose Economy Parcel Post. It is considerably cheaper than Air Parcel Post, but much slower, even to Canada. Economy Parcel Post will take 4 - 6 weeks to arrive, while Air Parcel Post usually arrives in about 7 - 10 days.
Remember, you will also need to fill out Customs Forms, which you can pick up at your local post office, or print them online at www.usps.com.

USPS is always more affordable than UPS, but with the added cost of UPS you get VERIFIABLE tracking and much more delivery areas. I recently shipped an ebay item to Canada for one of my customers, the local post office said they didn't ship to that area. Your best bet would be to check with the post office first. Also keeep in mind that you will have to fill out a commercial invioce for items being shipped internationally (you will need to know the counrty of origin for the item being shipped. Chances are, no matter how you send it, you're going to lose money. UPS will be more than the $20 you recieved for shipping costs. Before placing an item on ebay you should look into shipping options and cost. UPS and Fed-Ex both will give you a price qoute, keep in mind though most Authorized ship centers have an added charge, so the rates quoted on the website may be a little lower if you are not going DIRECTLY to the shipper.I saw an earlier answer about customs being shorter through the USPS. This is not necessarily true. The recent package I had left NY on a Tuesday and was delivered by UPS on Wednesday, with no customs delay. Customs is customs, if they choose to scrutinize your package they don't care who is transporting it. Keep all your paperwork in order and you should'nt have customs problems.

USPS will be cheaper and it can get there a little faster since UPS has to go through more customs. Just make sure to insure it though and know that USPS doesn't guarantee that it will be there on time.
Well, $20 probably won't cover it, but USPS will always be cheaper. And I don't care who said it, you CAN ship a package to any city anywhere with International Parcel Post. International Express Mail has area restrictions, but you won't be using Express Mail, I assume.
The only conditions you will need to meet is that the entire package weighs no more than 66 pounds, and the package's total measurements (length of the longest side + girth, length of one wrap around the package at its thickest point) is no more than 108 inches. The only complication you may have is if the box is extremely long and lightweight, such as a fishing rod. Then, you may have oversize and/or non-machinable surcharges.
To save money on postage, choose Economy Parcel Post. It is considerably cheaper than Air Parcel Post, but much slower, even to Canada. Economy Parcel Post will take 4 - 6 weeks to arrive, while Air Parcel Post usually arrives in about 7 - 10 days.
Remember, you will also need to fill out Customs Forms, which you can pick up at your local post office, or print them online at www.usps.com.

USPS is always more affordable than UPS, but with the added cost of UPS you get VERIFIABLE tracking and much more delivery areas. I recently shipped an ebay item to Canada for one of my customers, the local post office said they didn't ship to that area. Your best bet would be to check with the post office first. Also keeep in mind that you will have to fill out a commercial invioce for items being shipped internationally (you will need to know the counrty of origin for the item being shipped. Chances are, no matter how you send it, you're going to lose money. UPS will be more than the $20 you recieved for shipping costs. Before placing an item on ebay you should look into shipping options and cost. UPS and Fed-Ex both will give you a price qoute, keep in mind though most Authorized ship centers have an added charge, so the rates quoted on the website may be a little lower if you are not going DIRECTLY to the shipper.I saw an earlier answer about customs being shorter through the USPS. This is not necessarily true. The recent package I had left NY on a Tuesday and was delivered by UPS on Wednesday, with no customs delay. As you can see above it says there is attempted delivery but I have not had a notice through my mailbox to say that delivery was attempted and where I can pick it up from.
Tried to put my parcel tracking number into the royal mail tracking site incase it with them but they do not recognise the number.
The thing is though a bit confused as the timing says delivery was attempted at 1:57am???
From the info above does it mean that I have missed the initial delivery of the item or is it that its going to be delivered to my address soon? I have no clue as I'm new to all this :-)Help! This is the first time I've used the USPS (United States Postal Service)?
Looks like they attempted delivery to the "Foreign Delivery Unit" (that would be your Post Office) at 1:57 am and it was scanned in at that Post Office at 2:27 am on the 14th.
I'd go to your local Post Office and show them that information and ask them what might have happened to your item. Based just on the information above, I would have expected that you'd have gotten it on Saturday or Monday.textbook restaurants

I would like to make a brief introduction about myself. I am the lead singer/vocalist in a rock/pop band, The Embezzles, (name have been changed quite a few times within the past few months)and we鈥檙e very similar to Paramore and Linkin Park. We鈥檙e sort of a big deal in East Texas with an increasing fan base which continues to grow expendably great but we have a big problem communicating and contacting fans. We鈥檝e tried everything from Post Office boxes, Private Mailboxes and social networking sties. Unfortunately, the Postal Services are on shaky ground. Postal Services have rules and regulations to combat mail fraud and other crimes committed using postal and private mailboxes which sounds convincing but the postal services are on the wrong side here.
Rather than protecting privacy they are seeking to invade it and rather than allowing some consumer choice they are looking to stifle what little competition exists. Unfortunately, scam artists also utilize the convenience of private mailboxes to hide illegal activities, such as credit card fraud, identity theft and schemes to swindle the elderly. In other words or simple terms, P.O. boxes and Private Mailboxes are growing concerns of the postal services used in order to single out P.O. boxes and PMB(private mailboxes) who have personal accounts instead of business accounts.
We would like to have an address rather than using one of our own physical home address because you guys are aware of fans(groupies) can be a bit psychotic at times when bands are in the limelight destined for stardom. Instead of selling merchandise, passing out flyers, etc. from our tour van/hotel (lol) J, we decided that we want to be able to reach fans outside of our 100 mile radius giving fans the opportunity to write personal letters to one our band members, pics or whatever the fans want to give their favorite band (The Embezzles ) %26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;promotion tactic%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;,in order to converse on numerous occasions, but we do not want to give the government or postal office or any carrier service speculations or any misleading ideas that we are subjecting to a scheme to earn money or somehow get personal information from individuals. All we want is to build a connection with our fans in order to solidify our relationships to remind them of upcoming tour dates, nearby performances, or any updates we might have in order to refresh the memories of our fans.
We were recommended on some international mail forwarding service sites but getting an international P.O. or Private box seems a little suspect, wouldn鈥檛 you agree? Although they offer great services they only require your personal information鈥?sometimes to much information. I have scavenged many postal services sites and some websites seem a bit puzzling. Even though they have U.S. Postal Forms and identification requirements they false advertise and some sites even have numerous complaints from previous customers. If I were to come across one of these misleading websites how would I be able to recognize a true and faithful postal or forwarding service from any other website posing as a legit mail forwarding service? Are there any services that allows you to apply online if so this would be my first option to cut out the hassle and run around the postal services have been giving us.

I am trying to track a parcel i sent to new zealand via royalmail's international signed for service...?
i can see on the royal mail website that it has been passed onto the new zealand postal service 2 weeks ago, it hasn't been delivered yet, i have tried to track the item on the new zealand post website but it does not recognise the uk tracking number (perhaps they changed the tracker when it reached their country) how can i track my parcel now to see where it is?I am trying to track a parcel i sent to new zealand via royalmail's international signed for service...?
I can guarantee to you that the UK tracking number should work. The codes are universal (hence why the tracking numbers from Royal Mail end in "GB" - to identify country of origin).
It sounds more like the NZ Post office hasn't scanned the item in properly, so as far as their tracking system is concerned, the item isn't in the country. They probably still have it and its being dispatched to the recipient, just the tracking won't work.
If NZ post hasn't scanned the item back into the system, after its been scanned out, Royal Mail will only be able to tell you that its left the UK and in the hands of NZ Post.
Which postal service did you use? Signed For Airmail or Signed For Surface?
If it was airmail, give it another week and then contact Royal Mail customer services, and they'll start an investigation.

Can I legally send a set of diving equipment as a Christmas present to Singapore through USPS Int'l Postal?
I am in the US and I intend to send a set of Buoyancy Control Device, a set of backplate system and a set of buoyancy wings to my friend in Singapore as a Christmas present through USPS international postal service.
However when I checked out USPS website, they had this fine print that states, "*GXG, Priority Mail International Flat-Rate Envelope and Small Flat-Rate Box, and First-Class Mail International are not available for items requiring an Export License under U.S. Law."
It seems to me that diving equipment are in the controlled items list under US laws.
1. My question is that would this regulation apply to my situation? (Since I'm only just sending 1 set of each diving equipment here as a Christmas gift and I'm not exporting/sending multiple identical items.)

Help please as I am in UK. I want to order a few items in the US costing 50.00 and shipping they have offered me for delivery to Africa is by United States Postal Service. A) Priority Mail International at 52.00 and B) Global Express Gauranteed at 138.00. I have assumed they are both sent Airmail as they both offer delivery within a week BUT the Global option seems to me, to be traceable by the word gaurantee in its title.Do you know if the Priority is traceable too? I mailed a gift to Ukraine on December 21 and it looks like it's at customs. How often is mail scanned at customs on Sunday and the day after christmas? Does this mean the padded envelope really left the United States? What does this mean? I took a few of the numbers out. I sent it registered mail even though the CD didn't cost me much! I sent another CD regular International First Class in October 2010 and she didn't get it! Please look below!

As it left the ISC on the 26th and today's the 28th, it is not at all unreasonable for the item to still be in a secure Registered pouch somewhere on a plane, either in the air or on the ground anywhere the plane might stop for refueling or mail transfer. Registered travels slower than regular mail because of the extra security procedures even in the US, and in Eastern Europe, it's even slower - and still somewhat risky. Who knows how reliable their scanning is?
Two days since leaving the US is really nothing. You need to be patient with this.

I've also lost several Registered Mail packages sent to me from overseas since mid-2009! I noticed that they all ended up at ISC NEW YORK as if it was some kind of black hole which sucks all your mail in and does not spit out much. Wrote to hotline@uspsoig.gov, yet the inspector told me they are not responsible for loss of international inbound mail items, they refused to take any inspection, not matter whether international mails are stolen or lost. There is nothing wrong or no reason for alarm, at least at this point. All incoming or out going international mail goes through Customs processing. Customs processing in 99.9% of the cases is just a formality step in the processing step and nothing physically happens to the package. However if there is suspicion or something odd about the item, it could be detained for further inspection. As long as you properly filed a Customs Declaration form when you mailed your package, that match's, your item should be on it's way in no time at all. US Postal Service and Ukraine Customs?
I mailed a gift to Ukraine on December 21 and it looks like it's at customs. Do you think it's still at customs? How often is mail scanned at customs on Sunday and the day after christmas? Does this mean the padded envelope really left the United States? What does this mean? I took a few of the numbers out. I sent it registered mail even though the CD didn't cost me much! When I called the USPS 1800 number she read that it said Kiev,Ukraine. The USPS customer 800 number uses a different system then the online tracking website. I called Monday 12-27 night Eastern time. The USPS customer service said it cleared US Customs and it is most likely in Ukraine Customs. The USPS customer service looked under codes for the meaning International Dispatch. The Lilburn post office said it's still in new York! Who is correct? Do you think she will still get the package? It hasn't even been 3 weeks and registered mail can take alot longer.US Postal Service and Ukraine Customs?

It is very frustrating. I also sent a very important immigration letter to my sister in Minn. from Hungary over 6 weeks ago and she hasn't recieved it yet.
2 weeks ago, we went into the post in Budapest to ask what was up. They told us, too much Xmas mail, delayed flights from weather and other BS.
My friend does allot of business all over Europe and to the UK and asked some questions at the post about slow mail. She was told mail to and from the US is now going through a anti- terrorist screening. Must be done by hand or somethng since it is so slow.
Not sure if that is really the problem but it sounds like something the US would do.
If you have a tracking no. for your package, that may be helpful if you contact the post office or check on line with the no.

Packages from the US to Switzerland usually reach there in about a week, but I guess the holiday crunch/big volumes of mail are adding to the delay, plus there is probably also increased security screenings of packages because of the terrorist threats.

Your guess is right. It's really busy this time of year and due to all the extra packages the post office is moving slowly. I have also noticed that tracking websites are not being kept as up to date as they usually are. I assume that since there are so many more packages the post office is trying to put its focus on getting things delivered as quickly as possible and sometimes that means they don't update the tracking information as much. I seriously doubt your package is lost of stolen, probably just moving slowly.

A 10kg 1 metre cubed parcel sent overseas to Spain. I was just quoted over 拢200 by at least 2 couriers. Surely there must be a cheaper method?

I would like to make a brief introduction about myself. I am the lead singer/vocalist in a rock/pop band, The Embezzles, (name have been changed quite a few times within the past few months)and we鈥檙e very similar to Paramore and Linkin Park. We鈥檙e sort of a big deal in East Texas with an increasing fan base which continues to grow expendably great but we have a big problem communicating and contacting fans. We鈥檝e tried everything from Post Office boxes, Private Mailboxes and social networking sties. Unfortunately, the Postal Services are on shaky ground. Postal Services have rules and regulations to combat mail fraud and other crimes committed using postal and private mailboxes which sounds convincing but the postal services are on the wrong side here.
Rather than protecting privacy they are seeking to invade it and rather than allowing some consumer choice they are looking to stifle what little competition exists. Unfortunately, scam artists also utilize the convenience of private mailboxes to hide illegal activities, such as credit card fraud, identity theft and schemes to swindle the elderly. In other words or simple terms, P.O. boxes and Private Mailboxes are growing concerns of the postal services used in order to single out P.O. boxes and PMB(private mailboxes) who have personal accounts instead of business accounts.
We would like to have an address rather than using one of our own physical home address because you guys are aware of fans(groupies) can be a bit psychotic at times when bands are in the limelight destined for stardom. Instead of selling merchandise, passing out flyers, etc. from our tour van/hotel (lol) J, we decided that we want to be able to reach fans outside of our 100 mile radius giving fans the opportunity to write personal letters to one our band members, pics or whatever the fans want to give their favorite band (The Embezzles ) %26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;promotion tactic%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;,in order to converse on numerous occasions, but we do not want to give the government or postal office or any carrier service speculations or any misleading ideas that we are subjecting to a scheme to earn money or somehow get personal information from individuals. All we want is to build a connection with our fans in order to solidify our relationships to remind them of upcoming tour dates, nearby performances, or any updates we might have in order to refresh the memories of our fans.
We were recommended on some international mail forwarding service sites but getting an international P.O. or Private box seems a little suspect, wouldn鈥檛 you agree? Although they offer great services they only require your personal information鈥?sometimes to much information. I have scavenged many postal services sites and some websites seem a bit puzzling. Even though they have U.S. Postal Forms and identification requirements they false advertise and some sites even have numerous complaints from previous customers. If I were to come across one of these misleading websites how would I be able to recognize a true and faithful postal or forwarding service from any other website posing as a legit mail forwarding service? Are there any services that allows you to apply online if so this would be my first option to cut out the hassle and run around the postal services have been giving us.

I am a letter carrier with the USPS for going on 30 years who has had a PO box for more than 20, and can tell you that regarding PO boxes from the USPS, you do not know what you are talking about. Businesses open and close PO boxes that are used strictly for commerce all the time. An individual can use their box for personal or business use. I do. I receive my personal mail as well as all mail for my eBay business, and no one at the PO has ever asked me for anything other than the info I signed up for it with in 1987, which was my name, street address and phone number.
There is a local band with a large following that has a member of it living in my zip code. That person happens to be the business manager for the group and receives all of the mail addressed to the group at his personal residence, but if he were to open up a PO box to handle this mail, he'd have no problem at all.
I don't know what kind of problems you've had with private outfits, or their policies, but the PO is no problem at all. Just go there and tell them that you want to open a box with you as the owner, representing your business, the band, and make sure the clerk understands that mail addressed to you or the band is to go there. They won't care if you're making money from it, that's the whole idea of business, and the PO isn't in business to turn business away. We would like to have an address rather than using one of our own physical home address because you guys are aware of fans(groupies) can be a bit psychotic at times when bands are in the limelight destined for stardom. Instead of selling merchandise, passing out flyers, etc. from our tour van/hotel (lol) J, we decided that we want to be able to reach fans outside of our 100 mile radius giving fans the opportunity to write personal letters to one our band members, pics or whatever the fans want to give their favorite band (The Embezzles ) %26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;promotion tactic%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;,in order to converse on numerous occasions, but we do not want to give the government or postal office or any carrier service speculations or any misleading ideas that we are subjecting to a scheme to earn money or somehow get personal information from individuals. All we want is to build a connection with our fans in order to solidify our relationships to remind them of upcoming tour dates, nearby performances, or any updates we might have in order to refresh the memories of our fans.
We were recommended on some international mail forwarding service sites but getting an international P.O. or Private box seems a little suspect, wouldn鈥檛 you agree? Although they offer great services they only require your personal information鈥?sometimes to much information. I have scavenged many postal services sites and some websites seem a bit puzzling. Even though they have U.S. Postal Forms and identification requirements they false advertise and some sites even have numerous complaints from previous customers. If I were to come across one of these misleading websites how would I be able to recognize a true and faithful postal or forwarding service from any other website posing as a legit mail forwarding service? Are there any services that allows you to apply online if so this would be my first option to cut out the hassle and run around the postal services have been giving us.

I am a letter carrier with the USPS for going on 30 years who has had a PO box for more than 20, and can tell you that regarding PO boxes from the USPS, you do not know what you are talking about. Businesses open and close PO boxes that are used strictly for commerce all the time. An individual can use their box for personal or business use. I do. I receive my personal mail as well as all mail for my eBay business, and no one at the PO has ever asked me for anything other than the info I signed up for it with in 1987, which was my name, street address and phone number.
There is a local band with a large following that has a member of it living in my zip code. That person happens to be the business manager for the group and receives all of the mail addressed to the group at his personal residence, but if he were to open up a PO box to handle this mail, he'd have no problem at all.
I don't know what kind of problems you've had with private outfits, or their policies, but the PO is no problem at all. Just go there and tell them that you want to open a box with you as the owner, representing your business, the band, and make sure the clerk understands that mail addressed to you or the band is to go there. They won't care if you're making money from it, that's the whole idea of business, and the PO isn't in business to turn business away. Just so you don't run into problems getting everything, make sure that any advertising you do instructs fans to send mail for individual band members IN CARE OF the band, or the clerks may not recognize the name and 'kill' the piece, ie, send it back.Why do Postal Services deny unsigned and independent musicians the right to own a private mailbox?

Then provide the address for the band as "The Embezzles, (Your post office box #"
The Post office only sorts by the box number anyway - they don't care about the name.

Anyone know about TNT international service in uk?
Recently I import the heavy goods from india, which was 20kg weight. My brother he lives in India that he paid the postal charge that was nearly 拢400 but last week, i received the letter from TNT international service. they said, i'll need to pay the VAT/ DUTY money about 拢50. I tried to pay by post office and bank but both they couldn't accept this bill.

I live in the U.S., and I purchased an item on eBay from a user in Canada. I paid with a U.S. Postal Service International money order because they didn't take Pay Pal. After I paid, a ton of negative feedbacks showed up on his account, eBay closed his account, and the buyer will not respond to emails. I did a money order inquiry with the USPS (by the way, don't ever use one of their international money orders, because they won't stop payment), and the money order was cashed, but I have received nothing. I was told by the Post Office that if they did not send the merchandise, it would be mail fraud because they signed for and cashed a postal money order. I've already checked and eBay won't cover it, I suppose because it is international (they will allow the seller to sell, but won't cover the buyer). Anyway, is there anything that I can do? It's not a great amount of money, so I don't want to get an attorney, but I would like this guy to get what is coming to him. ThanksDo I have any recourse for international mail fraud?
Your only option to recover the money is to sue. That is will cost more than you would get. Mail Fraud is also a crime. I suggest you at least file a police report so that the individual can be prosecuted. Speak with an attorney in your area.

As a seller on Ebay, let me advise that you should NEVER deal with anyone on that site that hasn't been on there for at least several months. You should also see close to 100% positive feedback for the seller.
One really good indicator that you should have been cautious is the sellers refusal to accept Paypal...which is the MOST common payment type on Ebay.
Like anything else, foolish shopping can cost money.

I shipped an iPhone with insurance and tracking number to Vietnam through Express Mail through USPS (united states postal service).
