I've ordered something from the US, has not arrived?

I've waited for nearly THREE weeks now.

I have a tracking code for USPS, I have entered the code in and it says;

"Class: First-Class Mail International

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on July 31, 2009 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later."

It has said this for about three weeks now.

My friends have ordered from this site before, their deliveries were super fast.

What should I do?I've ordered something from the US, has not arrived?
It usually takes between 7 - 14 days for a parcel to arrive from the States. Occasionally it can be much quicker than that but also it can be much slower too.

First thing you should do is ring up the company you ordered your item from to find out if the item has been dispatched and recieved by USPS.

Then ring up USPS and ask them if they can tell you if your parcel is in their system as you have had no updates for three weeks. - The fact that you have a tracking code should make this much simpler for them to find.

Check your policy of ordering from the website! There is usually a 28 day wait before you can report an item as lost in the post and undelivered. So you may have to wait a while (another week or so) before they will dispatch you another parcel. You will probably have to show the company your USPS tracking code information to prove lack of delivery.

Your parcel should be fully insured by them - so hopefully you'll get a quick repsonse.

Send both the USPS and the website an email to let them know the situation and wait for a reponse. They may well talk to one another without involving you to find out what's going on.

Good Luck!

EDIT* Should also mention that perhaps your item is still going through customs! This can cause a big delay on items coming over from the States but the USPS should be able to give you an update on the status of whether the parcel has arrived in this country.I've ordered something from the US, has not arrived?
Contact the seller. It sounds like the Post Office has given the seller a tracking code electronically, but the package was never mailed.
