Can the United Postal Service put their parcels going to Europe on UPS,FedEx or DHL plaines?

Can the United Postal Service put their parcels going to Europe on UPS,FedEx or DHL planes? Someone told me they could. Is this true?Could the package I mailed made it out of the US before 12 noon Saturday? See below!

I mailed a package to Ukraine and I'm concerned it will get damaged from the rain if Hurricane Irene causing flooding at JFK. I know all flights were canceled at 12 noon Saturday. Are there any flights to Ukraine or Europe before noon Saturday? How does the postal service keep mail and packages from getting wet? Also, why was my package sitting so long in Jamaica (from 12:01 PM Friday to 10:01 AM Saturday? It seems like it should have made it on a flight on Friday night! Also, will it fly directly to Ukraine or will it fly to another country first? Any help will be nice. Please list how you got this information! Please see below!

LILBURN, GA 30047Can the United Postal Service put their parcels going to Europe on UPS,FedEx or DHL plaines?
I have answered this question for you before. Nothing has changed. Item has been handed over to the air line contracted with the USPS to fly to Europe and then to the Ukraine. That can be a commercial airline or it can be FedEx. The USPS uses both. They do not use UPS or DHL air lines.

Your scanning shows that package is now on or in the hands of that airline. The USPS no longer has this package and has no control on how it is handled at the airport or when it lands in Europe.

You should not be worried about delivery which may take a few weeks. The Package will be held up in Customs in Europe and again in Customs when it reaches the Ukraine. You are just going to have to wait. Can the United Postal Service put their parcels going to Europe on UPS,FedEx or DHL plaines?
Yes, the USPS does send their letters and packages overseas on private commercial aircraft with any carrier they have a contract with, and that includes UPS, DHL and FedEx.

The cargo bay on all these airliners is absolutely weather-tight and no water can get into it. Don't worry about the flooding either, because the belly of the aircraft is at least 4 feet off the ground and any flood level will be much less. Even if it were higher those are tight seals on the cargo doors and still no water could leak into it. So you are save all the way around.
