Postal service....international letter?

i live in New York City

and i want to send a postcard and a letter to a friend of mine in Belarus

for both the letter and postcard would it be just 1 postage stamp each?im curious....or is it more becuase its international?Postal service....international letter?
International is always more. I would stick on 2 or 3 stamps each. 3 to be safe. Check with the post office to be sure. Here's their website:

The best and easiest way to send it would be to go to the post office, and talk to someone there. Depending on where you are sending it, and how much it weighs, the postage can vary. The USPS website can give you an idea of how much it will cost, but I would recommend going to the post office.Postal service....international letter?
To send international letters up to a ounce your cost at this point is .72 to go to canada and mexico and all other countries is .94. This is for both letters and postcards.

I am a postal clerk and those prices will be in effect until may 11th.
