What is wrong with the US Postal Service's Tracking feature?

I'm waiting on a package that was sent from the US to Switzerland via International Priority w/insurance. The USPS track/confirm has no other info apart from the following:

Label/Receipt Number: CPXXXXXXXXXXUS

Class: Priority Mail International Parcels

Service(s): International Parcels

Status: Processed through Sort Facility

Your item was processed through and left our KEARNY, NJ 07099 facility on December 09, 2010. The item is currently in transit to the destination. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

Detailed Results:

- Processed through Sort Facility, December 09, 2010, 10:37 pm, KEARNY, NJ 07099

- Acceptance, December 09, 2010, 11:19 am, XXXXXXX, NJ XXXXX

Should I be worried that it's been lost or stolen, because there's no more or updated information in the system? I called the post office and first they said that they're having technical problems with the service locator and scanning into the system and that it's been down for a couple of days (???). Then they said I should give it a few more days. I also checked with the Swiss postal service, and there's no info there either, apart from *Mailed* and the date.

So I have no idea where it is now, and it's really stressful. Packages from the US to Switzerland usually reach there in about a week, but I guess the holiday crunch/big volumes of mail are adding to the delay, plus there is probably also increased security screenings of packages because of the terrorist threats.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance. What is wrong with the US Postal Service's Tracking feature?
Your guess is right. It's really busy this time of year and due to all the extra packages the post office is moving slowly. I have also noticed that tracking websites are not being kept as up to date as they usually are. I assume that since there are so many more packages the post office is trying to put its focus on getting things delivered as quickly as possible and sometimes that means they don't update the tracking information as much. I seriously doubt your package is lost of stolen, probably just moving slowly.
