I would start by contacting the sender and making sure the letter or package was actually sent out. If it has have them contact the USPS and see about starting a trace on it. You can also contact the Canadian Post and ask them what the procedure is for locating a lost letter or package. It really shouldn't take that long, usually 1-2 weeks, to get the letter to you unless you are clear across the country from where the letter was sent from or you are up on the arctic circle and they have to dog sled the thing to you. Just kidding :)
