USPS mail item tracking messed up, does this mean it's not been sent? The seller says it has been?

I paid double to get an item sent to be my Thursday this week. It was sent Thursday last week Priority from the US to the UK. The only information tracking is giving me is:

Label/Receipt Number: CQ00 xxxx xxxU S

Class: Priority Mail International Parcels

Service(s): International Parcels

Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on March 18, 2010 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

That would mean a package that should have just gone straight on a plane is either not even sent, or stuck in the US! What do I do? The person I spoke to about this was outright rude to me!USPS mail item tracking messed up, does this mean it's not been sent? The seller says it has been?
Unless the seller purchased delivery notifcation you probably won't get any other information than what you've shown. The USPS is notorious among frequent shippers in the US (my dad, for example, who buys and sells on eBay) for providing very little in transit information, especially on international shipments. It also interfaces very poorly with other postal systems like the Royal Post when it comes to status info.

Just relax. The chances are excellent that the package will get to you in approximately the time the USPS says it will take to get there, which (to the UK) is appx. 6-10 days from when the seller sent it. So if it was sent on the 18th, there's a fair chance it'll get there by Thursday, but it'll almost certainly get there by Saturday.

In the future if you want guaranteed delivery from the US by a certain date, don't pick Priority Mail. Priority Mail has NO guaranteed delivery date (although they give an estimate of 6-10 days for the UK) and NO guaranteed online tracking. The USPS doesn't even guarantee Priority Mail will get there any faster than ordinary First Class does, just that it "usually" will. In fact, there have been cases where Priority Mail gets there even slower. It's better to pick USPS Global Express Mail or choose another carrier like Fed Ex or DHL Express.
