Is my USPS Parcel lost or was never shipped?

Hi..I am from Pakistan and my uncle who lives in US bought a guitar for me on eBay..He told me that the seller has told him that he shipped the guitar on august 10th through USPS Priority Mail International Service..My uncle gave me a tracking number to track..Its been 16 days since then and i haven't received the guitar and neither the status of the tracking number is updated. My uncle says that the seller has a good positive feedback and according to him he had sent it out...

But this is what the tracking says right now:

Class: Priority Mail International Parcels

Service(s): International Parcels

Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on August 10, 2009 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

Any idea whats going on ?Is my USPS Parcel lost or was never shipped?
check with the shipper. Any tracing done through the postal service needs to be initiated by the shipper. Is my USPS Parcel lost or was never shipped?
If a shipping label is printed on a home computer, it is NOT "scanned" into the system when it is dropped off at a US Post Office ... there is neither the time nor the personnel available.

There is NO tracking available on a USPS Priority Int'l package ... you are probably referring to the customs form number (none of these foreign countries, like yours, will work with us on any kind of comprehensive tracking system).

Once the USPS hands the package off to another country's equivalent of a postal service, it's in THEIR hands ... and they often take three weeks or more, if it gets there at all (a Pakistani customs or postal worker along the way might like your guitar, too!).

Either keep waiting patiently, or see if your local customs office can track the package with the customs form number you provide them ...

  1. USPS 1st Class mail parcel never arrived:
I am from Pakistan, had a chance of taking part in e-bay bidding of a Nokia n97 and win it on 10th June, 2012. It was shipped to me by the seller with 100% rating through USPS First Class mail bearing LC807123 258US on 13th July but failed to reach its destination. The tracking no continue to show the parcel to be at the sorting facility at Gainesville FL. I have contacted Pakistan Postal Services Islamabad and Karachi offices but they are not in receipt of any parcel in my name. I then contacted the USPS customer services deptt and they said it is not trackable. I find this really amazing. USPS First Class mail sounded a sure way to get the parcel sent and delivered, but that is not the case. Its been 35 days and we have no track of where the parcel is. What good is a First Class mail if it cannot even give you a clue to where you parcel is. Under the circumstances in this untrustworthy world that we now live in, all mails parcels should be registered with tracking. No parcels should be accepted which are not trackable and are a source of revenue generation through its auction. I am really amazed at how easily a parcel gets lost and we are told its not trackable. There got to be a solution to this problem or i would say an intentionally created problem to a greater extent.
