I recently put my macbook pro up for sale on craigslist, and i've gotten four responses. Unfortunately they are all paypal and no local. I'm afraid they are scams because they all sound kinda robotic and i heard that many people are getting scammed through paypal because anyone can just put the payment through and cancel it once they get the item. Can I trust these? and is there anyway to make sure I get the money?
"Hi

"Hello,

Hope to read from you now. (Quote from the bible)"Is this a craigslist scam?
Yeah, looks like Sir Scamalot is working overtime here.
Yes dont use paypal on craigslist its a rip off for sure.anyone using bible quotes or say god bless or said regards at the end of the messages is all rip offs? Ask your self why would he pay you alll that when he could go on ebay and get it much cheaper. Is this a craigslist scam?
yes this is a scam.. and i am looking to by a macbook pro..... seriously i really am can u add in ur details how much you are selling it for....thanks :) and yes they do sound pretty "robotic" lol. i wouldnt do it. and plus why would anyone want to pay that much money.... you know wat i mean? thanks again. :)
All scams. They send fake Paypal notices, pretending they paid - but never do.
Stay away from anything uncomfortable, like shipping to Africa, or gettting offered more money than it's really worth. These crooks prey on people's "greed", too make money ....Is this a craigslist scam?
When in doubt, go with your instincts.
You don't trust non-locals (I wouldn't either), then don't deal.
Make sure you make it clear that the exchange is only for locals only.
The second one is a scam for sure!!! The first one is a bit similar so I would say stay away from them both. Just deal locally so you can get payment in your hand, face to face. Good luck with your sale! :)
id assume just use ebay nearly everything on craigslist i found a scam
I wouldn't trust sending an item overseas. I would like to get cold hard cash when selling an item on Craigslist
Yep, both sound like scammers to me. Don't ship internationally to people you do not know.
If there's scams in Ebay then there are scams in craigslist.
haha quote from the bible
yes
Yes, this is a scam.
its a good chance it could be since there are so many scams out there. why dont you do this remove the offer you currently have on craigslist then put a new one saying what ever you like as for as what your wanting to sell but make the offer local and cash only!! that way you will have a face to face sale not checks, paypal or other bull**** you have to deal with...
Ok, I'm pretty sure this is a scam. I looked into it and apparently it's been happening to quite a few people the same exact story and always for Macs. They seem to always use the concept of wanting to get it for their son (overseas) and each of the emails people have posted usually have this phrase "and Am quite comfortable with the condition of the item". So I would suggest this is probably a scam.
At first I thought this was a silly question because I didn't know people could request their money back from paypal after they've sent it. So great question, and no I don't think you can trust it. That was very smart to ask.
